One day can give you a meaningful introduction to a Mathura Vrindavan trip, but only if you choose a few highlights. This plan assumes you reach Mathura early in the morning and can leave after the evening visit. If you arrive after late morning, choose either Mathura or Vrindavan instead of trying to complete both.

Morning: Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi
Begin at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, revered as Lord Krishna's birthplace. The Keshav Dev temple is within the complex. Mobile phones, bags and electronics are generally not allowed inside, so leave them at your room when practical or use the locker or cloak facility near the entrance. Allow unhurried time for security and darshan. If Mathura is your main reason for travelling, you may then add Dwarkadhish Temple or Vishram Ghat, about 2 km from Janmabhoomi and 10 to 15 minutes by auto or e-rickshaw. Choose one; adding both can squeeze the Vrindavan half of the day.
Afternoon: travel to Vrindavan and pause
Banke Bihari Temple is about 10 km from Janmabhoomi, normally 30 to 40 minutes by road. ISKCON and Prem Mandir are about 9 km away, normally 25 to 35 minutes. Shared autos and e-rickshaws are common; fares vary, so agree the fare before starting.

Choose one main Vrindavan temple
Pick Banke Bihari if old Vrindavan and its temple lanes are your priority. Keep extra walking time because vehicles do not take you through every narrow lane. Pick ISKCON (Krishna Balaram Mandir) if your group prefers a simpler stop before Prem Mandir. Trying to visit Banke Bihari, Nidhivan, Radha Raman and ISKCON together makes this a rushed checklist.
Evening: Prem Mandir
Finish at Prem Mandir, known for its evening lighting. Published hours vary by season, so check the official Prem Mandir timetable and local notices for your date. Afterward, either begin your onward journey or return to Mathura.
Arrival, departure and room decision
This is a same-day route with no overnight included. An early departure train, children, older travellers or a late arrival makes an extra night sensible.
